Early summer: Fragrant splashes of color for kitchen and balcony
Frequently used herbs you may keep in the kitchen, others may already now beautify the balcony or entrance and signal: Here lives a gourmet!
You can plant the herbs in clay pots or ceramics, in nostalgic-beautiful enamel or earthenware pots, in baskets or even in old picturesque olive oil cans, from which you have cut off the lid. Also terracotta balcony boxes are suitable. If you want to label the herbs - to avoid any mistake - you should do so on potsherds or slates. For the potsherds you simply smash an old flower pot, and slates can be found in almost every hypermarket.
By the way: Some herbs, as for example lavender, marjoram, rosemary, sage and thyme, support cold temperatures and even night frosts.
